I should've known it was going to be one of those days. It started off with a phone call saying that the sitter was watching a kid with a very high fever. One thing after another happened, and then I get a phone call.
The preschool no longer wants our precious little boy to go to their school anymore. They said he was too young (immature, I guess).... Aside from my need for someone to watch Dude so I can work, my heart just broke at the thought of how they never even really gave him a chance to show what he's really like: a bright, intelligent, happy, funny little toddler.
Poor Dude - and how he loved the idea of school too!

- I was once on the path of a (possibly successful) business career before I got sidetracked by a love of teaching. Now, I've "retired" from the workforce and am a stay-at-home mom (read: one income) with two toddlers. We've made some choices so that I can be at home with the kids in one of the most expensive cities in North America. But we're learning along the way that by changing our attitudes and changing how we spend, we can feel like we're living a luxurious life. And we are. We are so blessed. WAY MORE THAN WE DESERVE.
