I went down to the Chois today to borrow a toy (a mail carrier cart that’s sort of like a push-walker). I ended up staying, and this is what happened:
- Kaeden got dressed up as a policeman.
- Kaeden stayed in the playroom all by himself, content as can be, and never came looking for his mother.
- Kaeden attacked Matthias (not even 4 months old yet), several times, mostly in the eyes.
- Kaeden tried yogurt (store-bought, and in Taiwan, they don’t tell you how much sugar is in it, only that it has sugar) for the first time and loved it. (He ate a regular-sized person’s portion.)
Yep – I love going down there – Kaeden is well-entertained, as am I. God bless the Chois.

- I was once on the path of a (possibly successful) business career before I got sidetracked by a love of teaching. Now, I've "retired" from the workforce and am a stay-at-home mom (read: one income) with two toddlers. We've made some choices so that I can be at home with the kids in one of the most expensive cities in North America. But we're learning along the way that by changing our attitudes and changing how we spend, we can feel like we're living a luxurious life. And we are. We are so blessed. WAY MORE THAN WE DESERVE.
